www.youthology.com Cost - $79.99 The Claim – Billed as the 90 second wrinkle removing serum, Youthology claims to instantly remove the signs of ageing making you look 10 years younger in 90 seconds. Marketed, manufactured and distributed by Alchemy worldwide LLC, Youthology is supported in its claims by Dr Jeffrey Gunter a board certified dermatologist and dermalogical surgeon with clinics throughout the Southern California and Nevada area. Dr Gunter has collaborated with the highbrow sounding Youthology Research Institute to produce a product which uses scientific research and cutting edge- formulas to visibly reduce the signs of ageing. And what’s more, Youthology are so confident in their wonder product that they provide a risk free money back guarantee. The Youthology site is crammed full of ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures which have been investigated by ERSP, the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program, which have been deemed as genuine but keep in mind this is not an alternative for more in depth treatments such as Restylane©. Product Usage The product itself was quite thin and watery when I pumped it out of the dispenser and I wasted probably half of the amount being worried about over application. Following the online pictures and information leaflet I applied the product as directed on clean dry skin and waited for a little over 90 seconds for the results to take place: My skin is not heavily wrinkled around the eye area but I do have some fine lines that I am concerned about and a fair amount of crepiness. The first thing I noticed about the product was the slight white film and a shiny grayish colour to the skin around my eye area. The skin did feel a little tighter so I decided to try again, afraid that maybe I had not applied it quite correctly. After cleansing my skin thoroughly and allowing my moisturizer to absorb I applied the serum again. The product still looked slightly dry and ‘salty’ looking and I had the feeling of having glue around my eyes that was slowly drying and tightening. The wrinkles did look slightly better however, until I tried to apply make up which turned into a complete disaster! At this point I re read the directions and discovered that it was advised to applied make up first and then apply the serum over the top of any cosmetics which I did – twice – and ended up each time with running and smeared make up. Very frustrating! Conclusion I have used many products and followed many skincare guidelines, but these were confusing to say the least. I tried 4 or 5 times to apply the serum with make up, without make up, used a little, used some more and still had non than perfect results. The product looked very dry and flaky around the eyes and on the first occasion I used it turned white and ‘salty’ looking. My older girlfriend did try the product as she has significant problems with wrinkles and heavy bags around the area and again had a problem with the application which she kept trying: When she did get a smooth, unnoticeable application after a few attempts, the product lasted for around 4 hours, less than the advertised 8 hours and gave the feeling of heaviness and stickiness around the eyes making it virtually impossible to reapply make up throughout the day. Rating1/5 - Not a product that I would recommend. With a lot of patience and no make up some clients may like Youthology but not worth the hype and the $79.99:
