Anti-Aging: Prepare for Spring and Summer!

Spring is the perfect time to update or renew your anti-aging strategies and processes. The long hot days of summer will soon be here and it’s important to take care of your skin to protect against premature aging and unnecessary wrinkles and skin blemishes.

Remember these important anti-aging tips in your efforts to stop aging in its tracks:

  • Avoid the sun between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. when the sun’s rays are the most harmful.
  • Always use a sunscreen on your face – look for specially prepared sunscreen for faces only.
  • Use a sunscreen with at least an SPF protection factor of 15 or more over all parts of your body exposed to the sun. Reapply sunscreen every 20 minutes if you are swimming or near water.
  • Wear a hat with a wide brim to avoid harmful rays that not only damage facial and neck skin, but that can harm your eyes too.
  • Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes – the harmful rays of sun can damage your eyes as you age.
  • Stay hydrated when outdoors by drinking plenty of fresh, cold water.Hydration is important for your health and it helps keep your skin moist and healthy too.
  • Exfoliate frequently – especially in summer when dry skin and dead skin cells abound. Removing dead skin cells helps return the healthy glow and moisture to your skin.
  • Get an annual skin cancer check-up from a qualified dermatologist or physician. Identifying the early signs of cancer can save your life. It can also help you and your doctor continually refine your anti-aging strategy to combat the signs of aging.

Spring and summer are ideal times in most regions to enjoy the great outdoors. But your war against aging is also extremely important during these times of the year. The sun is the number one culprit when it comes to aging – don’t allow it to damage your skin.
Take proper precautions with this critical anti-aging preventive measure.
